BLACKPINK is the second girl group of YG Entertainment which debuted in 8 August 2016 and released two songs in singles ‘Square One’, respectively titled ‘BOOMBAYAH’ as their debut track, and ‘Whistle’ as the side track. The word ‘black’ and ‘pink’ in the group’s name portrays that the greatness of women is not only seen from their beauty (signified by the feminine color of pink) but also from their talent (signified by the strong and bold color of black). As you read earlier, Black Pink is composed of four members, namely Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa, the fourth member of the Black Pink is derived from global auditions in various countries. Jisoo is a member of YG Blackpink who auditioned in Korea in 2011. On June 29, 2016, YG confirmed that his new group consists of four members, namely Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa and will debut in late July 2016. In late July 2016, YG delay the debut of this group, YG said that they will debut in dated August 8, 2016, and the long-awaited finally came, Black Pink debut on August 8, 2016 with the album titled SQUARE ONE, with the lead single titled “Boombayah”, a song Boombayah is directed by Seo Hyun Seung who is also a director from a song titled Fantastic Baby Big Bang and 2ne1 song titled I Am the Best, their second single, called “Whistle” Whistle song was written by Teddy and Bekum Boom. Black Pink perform their debut stage on Inkigayo stage which took place on August 14, 2016.
